(As of early 2009, the International Food Court is closed "until further notice." Vague at best, indeed. But that's not the real story here. The real story is years of wiretap cover-ups by those fatcats in Washington. Corruption of the highest order inside the Beltway. This isn't about the International Food Court at all. This is about citizens' rights. This is about freedom. It's time to shake ourselves out of the stupor, America!)
Taq. Viva Zapata reigns as the sole non-Asian dining choice down in the subterranean International Food Center, an unbecoming Financial District food court. Formerly the space of a satellite location for the Mission’s Taq. Vallarta, the sign changeover has been slow to arrive. But the food preparers’ aprons are current, and that’s where most people focus their attention these days anyway. Enter from either Bush or Kearny. Breakfast available. Closed evenings and weekends.

Although the best thing about this burrito was its fine construction, we almost wanted it to fall apart just to see roughly how many cubic feet of rice had been stuffed inside. The cavalcade of errors came faster than we could track: unmelted cheese, gravely unpleasant bean-sludge, a brutally arid interior, and an ingredient mix only a complete fool could appreciate. Even the steak was blahsville.
